For the second year in a row, Skyhawk Security stands out in a competitive market! The organization is proud to announce that it has been named a finalist in the 2025 Cloud Security Awards program in two categories:
- Best Cybersecurity Solution
- Best Use of AI in a Cloud Security Solution
Operated by global cloud computing awards body The Cloud Awards, The Security Awards’ judges have completed their second round of review, and have determined which shortlisted entries to take forwards to the finalist stage in this year’s awards. The program received entries from organizations of all sizes from across the globe, including the USA and Canada, the UK and Europe, the Middle East, and APAC.
The Security Awards recognizes organizations that are at the cutting edge of cloud security. The program celebrates solutions that have been fine-tuned towards certain areas of cybersecurity – such as email security, risk identification, and data protection – as well as general technological excellence in securing data and digital assets.
Threat actors are using AI at an accelerated rate to create better and more believable attack vectors – fast. There was a 95% increase in cloud exploitation from 2021 to 2022, and a 288% surge in cases involving threat actors directly targeting cloud environments. This escalation is attributed to adversaries leveraging AI and automation to swiftly identify and exploit misconfigured cloud settings, such as excessive permissions, exposed access keys, and open storage buckets.
Furthermore, it can take up to 128 days to resolve cloud posture issues and threat actors will not wait for you to fix these issues before attacking your cloud.
The collision of these cloud security issues highlights the need for an AI-based, preemptive cybersecurity approach as it is the only way to effectively defend against AI-enabled attacks. Skyhawk’s Cloud Threat Detection and Response delivers a compensating control to detect threat actors that are leveraging cloud misconfigurations to breach the cloud environment to prevent an incident from becoming a breach. The Continuous Autonomous Purple Team identifies the weaponized threats that put your most valuable business assets at risk, so you know what to fix first to reduce your overall cloud-risk profile.
CEO of The Cloud Awards, James Williams, said: “We’re delighted to reveal the finalists of the third annual Security Awards. Organizations large and small, all over the world, constantly need to be updating and refining their cloud security strategies. Failing to keep on top of the latest threats can have devastating consequences both reputationally and financially.
Skyhawk Security and their fellow finalists are leading the way in helping businesses and organizations across the globe in devising and executing these strategies – ensuring that data and digital assets are kept safe and secure. We congratulate them on their achievement on making this stage, and wish them well in the final round of judging.”
The program now begins its final round of judging, resulting in winners being selected in each category. Security Awards winners are due to be announced on Tuesday May 6.
The program will return to welcome new submissions in late 2025/early 2026, to continue recognizing the latest advancements in cybersecurity.
