In Skyhawk’s view, the recognition reflects growing role of intelligent simulations across enterprise and industrial environments
Skyhawk Security, a pioneer in AI-based red team cloud security, has been named a Sample Vendor for Intelligent Simulation in eight 2026 Gartner® Hype Cycle™ reports. Skyhawk believes this recognition underscores a cross-industry shift from static security playbooks to AI that reasons across each organization’s unique cloud architecture.
The reports span emerging technologies, enterprise architecture and industry-specific research. Skyhawk was included in:
- Hype Cycle for AI in Supply Chain, 2026(July 2026)
- Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies, 2026(July 2026)
- Hype Cycle for Manufacturing Operations Strategy, 2026(July 2026)
- Hype Cycle for AI in Oil and Gas, 2026(June 2026)
- Hype Cycle for Managing Operational Technology, 2026(June 2026)
- Hype Cycle for Enterprise Architecture, 2026(May 2026)
- Hype Cycle for Digital Technologies and Strategies in China, 2026 (June 2026)
- Hype Cycle for Digital Technology Strategy in China, 2026(June 2026)
Recently, Skyhawk was also included as an Exemplar Vendor in the 2026 Gartner research, Emerging Tech: Agentic Red Teaming Will Separate Offensive Security Platform Winners and Losers.
Gartner defines “Intelligence simulation” as “a design framework that integrates domain expertise with AI, agentic, and use-case-specific technologies to provide greater optimization of business goals and prediction of outcomes than traditional simulation solutions.”
A reasoning-based approach is at the core of Skyhawk’s AI Red Team, which continuously tests an organization’s cloud environment against real-world attack scenarios. The platform creates a non-disruptive digital twin of each customer’s cloud, allowing autonomous agents to safely determine how vulnerabilities, identities, permissions and legitimate cloud services could be combined to reach critical assets.
“Attackers do not see vulnerabilities, identities and cloud configurations as separate problems. They look for the fastest path through all of them,” said Chen Burshan, CEO of Skyhawk Security. “Skyhawk uses Intelligent Simulation to find and validate those paths before an attacker can. We believe our inclusion across eight Gartner Hype Cycle reports shows how relevant this approach has become as organizations bring AI into more critical parts of their operations.”
Skyhawk has continuously expanded the context available to its simulations. Its Threat Actor Context capability incorporates curated threat intelligence and known adversary behavior, allowing organizations to test their environments against relevant attacker tradecraft. Skyhawk also integrates findings from AWS Continuum into its AI Red Team, adding application-layer vulnerabilities to simulations alongside cloud configurations, identities and permissions. This helps customers determine whether an application vulnerability could be weaponized across the cloud before committing resources to remediation.
